Welcome Days of Service



Welcome to your Welcome Days of Service! This event will connect you to the world of community service and civic engagement here at GW. This year, we are offering several unique in-person and virtual service projects from Wednesday, August 25 through Saturday, August, 28. 

Registration for projects is now closed.

Check-In Information

  • Check-In Time: 12:00pm-12:45pm (Capital Area Food Bank and A Wider Circle should check-in by 12:30pm)
  • Check-In Location: Columbian Square (1st Floor of the University Student Center behind the wall)
  • Departure Time: 12:45pm
  • Service Time: 1pm-4pm
  • Arrive Back on Campus: 4:30pm
  • What to Wear: Closed-toed shoes (sneakers), long pants if you are at an outdoor site, a GW t-shirt, and a reusable water bottle.

We will provide you a bag for the day with sunglasses, a mask, and hand sanitizer. Please bring your own sunscreen and bug spray if you are serving outdoors. We will not be providing lunch, please be sure to eat prior to arriving. We will have an assortment of snacks you can grab before you go.

Faculty & Staff

Faculty and staff are invited to join the Class of 2025 at Welcome Days of Service! We serve in honor of the National 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance and the Tomorrow Together Campaign, support the President’s Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge, and represent GW’s commitment to excellence in academics, service, citizenship, and leadership.

This year, we are offering several unique in-person and virtual service projects from Wednesday, August 25 through Saturday, August 28. Please complete this interest form to indicate your available dates and preferred service areas. We will then reach out with recommended service projects and to confirm details.
