Fall 2017 Symposium
This event was held Friday December 8, 2017, 9 am - 4:00 pm, Marvin Center, 3rd floor
Highlights this semester included:
- A breakfast presentation by GW VISTAs' School-Community Liaisons about the work they are undertaking with DC Public Schools and some of the challenges around mentoring, food insecurity, technology, immigration and racial justice that DCPS students encounter as the negotiate their educational progress.
- A lunchtime panel discussion with DC Community Leaders Laura Newland, Executive Director of the DC Office on Aging and Claire Cook, Administrative Organizer, One DC (Moderator: Charity Edelman, Supervisor, GW/DCPS AmeriCorps VISTA Program)
- Morning and Afternoon Sessions, including panel presentations and reflective discussions on:
